The interview with Hizrenice goes thus:
Hizrenice:- Hi Bro.
Interviewer:- Introduce yourself please.
Hizrenice:- I was born and named Israel Adekanmbi. I’m into entertainment, A performing artiste to be precised.
Interviewer:- You have singles now?
Interviewer:- How many singles have you?
Hizrenice:- About six of them. If not miss counted.
Interviewer:- Which of your songs is your favorite?
Hizrenice:- ORIN WO?. And that’s because I meant every bit of what it’s lyrics said. I wasn’t singing the song, but rather expressing my mind through the song. (ORIN WO?)
Interviewer:- Okay; As an artiste, What inspired your songs?
Hizrenice:- Hmmmmm. (Smiles) GOD. Because without him, nothing would have been called man. He then gave me the ability to always get inspired by things around me.
Interviewer:- Is there an artiste you’re related to?
Hizrenice:- If the the question is well ingested. You mean like KSWITCHis to D’banj, Or D’prince to Don Jazzy? (Smiles). Not at all. But we’re brothers in the game. We brush ourselves up by striving to be relevant in the industry. When you see your brother doing well, You’d put more efforts.
Interviewer:- What would you call your style?
Hizrenice:- Simply “INDIGENOUS VERSATILE ARTISTE”. I sing, and do Rap songs. I do commercials like rap is a borrowed joint in me at times. And that’s vice-versa.
Interviewer:- How long have you been singing?
Hizrenice:- It’s been 5yrs now.
Interviewer:- Do you ever feel like giving up?
Hizrenice:- Yeah, I do. That was when I felt unheard. But I summoned courage, and kept pushing, until I got to the right channel. Now I’m a totally changed person in all ramification of life.
Interviewer:- What’s the best thing about being an artiste?
Hizrenice:- It’s simply that you’d be exposed, and get to meet people from different angle.
Interviewer:- What’s your downside about being an artiste?
Hizrenice:- (Sits back) Not spending quality time with my family members at seasonal periods, trying to satisfy my fans is a point.
Interviewer:- Your concern?
Hizrenice:- My future.
Interviewer:- And the worst thing about being who you are?
Hizrenice:- That’s a very good question. When people start monitoring you is when you’d know that you no longer belong to yourself. (All laughs)
No free movements, When you try keeping yourself busy so as to be able to meet up with some task, Your pals would take it as if you’re forming for them or trying to keep distance. Of which, nothing has changed. whatever you say would be taken serious; and even publicized. Normal rap lyrics would be canned as insult, this or something.
Interviewer:- Is there a purpose to what you do?
Hizrenice:- Yeah, yeah. I do it for fun, then royalty follows. (Winks) It feels good to get paid for what one likes doing.
Interviewer:- How do you feel when being criticized?
Hizrenice:- It’s challenging. It makes me wanna do better anyway, I mean work harder; Criticizing my songs improves my ability.
Interviewer:- Where do you see yourself in 3yrs?
Hizrenice:- I see myself representing Nigeria worldwide. I would have been brands ambassador by then.
Interviewer:- What advice do you have for aspiring artistes?
Hizrenice:- Please dont give up on yourself, because it could be a step left to attain your goal. Work and pray.
Interviewer:- And to your fans?
Hizrenice:- I call them my family members because they’re more than fans to me. God bless you all for the support from the scratch. To my management(Zebra music), God bless you abundantly. To my manager, Peace be unto you, To the producers that I’ve worked with, and would still work with , Up-Up you’ll go IJN. I love you all. MALAIKAH!
